The 80s are calling Obama: "we got our foreign policy back!"

In the 2012 presidential debates against Romney, Obama zinged Romney with this: "the 80s are calling, they want their foreign policy back."

Romney was absolutely right. Obama was absolutely wrong. The American people chose Obama's rhetoric over Romney's wisdom.

Does anyone else get the feeling that Obama is in over his head? The only thing that comes natural to him is redistribution of American wealth and power.

Is it Wrong to Characterize Great Britain as a Christian Country?

Is the Queen not the titular head of Great Britain? And is one of her titles not "the Defender of the Faith"? Has Britain not been instrumental in the propagation of the Christian faith for centuries? Of course it is right to characterize Britain as a Christian country.

If the UK was 59% avowed secularists, had a 1500 year history of institutional secularism, and the PM characterized the UK as a secular country, would these same people be complaining about him sowing sectarianism and division against others, i.e., persons of faith?

Hey, isn't there a cross somewhere in that flag?

A Brief History of Catastrophic Climate Change Tipping Points

Al Gore is my hero

A Brief History of Catastrophic Climate Change Tipping Points:

1982 tip 2002 UN - 20-year tipping point warning. Status: Tipped.

1989 tip 1999 UN - 10-year TP warning. Status: Tipped.

2007 tip 2012 UN - 5-year TP warning. Status: Tipped.

2009 tip 2013 NASA - 4-year TP warning. Status: Tipped.

2006 tip 2016 Al Gore - 10-year TP warning. Status: Active.

2012 tip 2016 UN - 4-year TP warning. Status: Active.

2014 tip 2029 UN - 15-year TP warning. Status: Active.

2014 tip 2034 Former Irish President Mary Robinson - 20-year TP warning. Status: Active.

2014 tip 2036 Michael Mann - 22-year TP warning. Status: Active.

My second favourite is Michael Mann's. A 22 year warning has more gravitas than a 4-year warning, and sounds much more scientific than a 5, 10, or 15 year warning. As Pharoah says in the Ten Commandments, "so it is written, so it shall be done"!

But my sentimental favourite is still Al Gore's. As I recall, he said after 2016, it would be too late to do anything. Two more years, and then we're free from the constraints of anthropogenic climate control. Thank you, Al Gore!

We'll all be like the Australians in On The Beach, waiting for the inevitable doom. I'm going to celebrate by waxing down my surfboard and going cruising for a burger in my car while being true to my school!

File under: "settled science". Dissenters will be ostracized sued, and, if necessary, disembowelled and/or imprisoned.

Easter's Now, Not Yet, Promise

English: Resurrection of Christ
English: Resurrection of Christ (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
How do the events of Easter relate to today, in the grand historical scheme of things?

Hebrews 2:

But now we do not yet see all things subjected to him [Christ].
But we do see Him who was made for a little while lower than the angels,
namely, Jesus,
because of the suffering of death
crowned with glory and honor,
so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone.

He tasted death for me. Because he lives, I shall live also.

You can live forever too.

And that's the way the resurrected Ball bounces.

Putin To Ukraine: "If you want your country, you can keep your country"

Russian ambassador blames Ukraine militia for violence, denies takeover plans

We all know how much their promises are worth.

"... nothing intellectually compelling or challenging.. bald assertions coupled to superstition... woefully pathetic"
