Obamacare: "I was laughing at Boehner -- until the mail came today"

Obamacare is a done deal and the rave reviews are pouring in! Let's hear from Mr. Waschura and Ms. Vinson, Independents who supported Obamacare.

First the set-up:

"'There's going to be a number of people surprised" by their bills, said Jonathan Wu, a co-founder of ValuePenguin, a consumer finance website.'"  Surprised? Surprises can be good; surprises can be fun!

Followed by, "Some people will see an increase..." he said, "but most people will not." So far, so good. Some losers, but a lot of winners!

Then this: "I was laughing at Boehner -- until the mail came today" said Mr. Waschura.

"Of course, I want people to have health care," Ms. Vinson said. Good, this is good. Vinson wants people to have health care. A good sentiment. Don't we all?!

Followed by:

 "I just didn't realize I would be the one who was going to pay for it personally."

Well, now you know.

(Vinson will be paying an additional $1,800 for an individual policy, and Waschura nearly $10,000 more for insurance for his family of four.)

This Just In: US Government Closes Border to Illegals

This just in -- the Obama administration announced today that it would be suspending illegal immigration until the current debt ceiling impasse is resolved. It is reported that the federal government will be sending agents that, in a move reminiscent of their closing of national monuments, will completely seal off the southern border to illegals. (Canadians, the essence of politeness, will simply be asked not to come). A Democratic spokesperson is quoted as saying "we know closing the border to illegal immigrants will inconvenience many, especially those who had already made plans to come. However, the American people, and by this I include  those future illegals who do not yet call America home, have the Tea Party and intractable Republicans to blame for this".

President Obama, who was out golfing, could not be reached for comment.

The Al Gore Armaggedon-Ready-For A Fried Planet Countdown Clock

I just stumbled across Rush Limbaugh's Al Gore Armaggedon Countdown Clock.

I remember a few years back Al gave us I think it was five years to get our act together and I thought, "great, just five more years of having to listen to this and then it will be too late to do anything". Shades of On the Beach!

Well, Limbaugh has a clock that's keeping track. The amount of time scarists give us to throw billions at the problem and for governments to regulate our lifestyles is always 5 or 10 years out, isn't it?

And that's the way the two-years, 127 days, and counting Ball bounces.

Tom Bethel over at American Spectator asks: "Will Stephen Meyer’s Darwin’s Doubt be “the most despised science book” of 2013?"


Excerpts:

Along with the attacks, we find more and more biologists recognizing that intelligent design (ID) is a serious endeavor. Meyer’s book has been praised by George Church, a professor of genetics at Harvard Medical School; Scott Turner, a professor of biology at SUNY; Russell Carlson, a professor of biochemistry at the University of Georgia and a dozen others. George Gilder, most recently the author of Knowledge and Power, calls Darwin’s Doubt “the best science book ever written.” 

This much is clear: The Darwinists cannot live with ID as their enemy. They can easily co-exist with creationism, but that came from the Bible, which can be dismissed in our secular age. They rage at ID, on the other hand, because it challenges them in what they have seen as their strong suit: Science.

So which is it? The "most despised science book of 2013" or "the best science book ever written"?
