"Jesse Lee, the Director of Progressive Media at Barack Obama's White House, responded that that was a “Flat lie, no fee for previous year,” adding, 'Scary how much influence he once had.'"
First, please tell me that there is no position officially associated with the White House called Director of Progressive Media. Someone, please.
But, if there is, then doesn't Drudge get to repeat his lie like 247 times before the New York times weighs in to say he merely "misspoke"?
Isn't this pot. calling. kettle. black?
Let's see how this one unfolds.

"There's a bomb in my pants" 101
What is the proper response to a guy at the airport who loudly insists he has a bomb up his, er, rectum?
Call me old-fashioned, but I would take him at his word and call the bomb disposal guys.

Biting the hands that rescue you...
"Man planning to sue his rescuers possibly in the country illegally" [VIDEO] h/t Drudge.
Apparently illegal immigrants have lost all fear of being deported or being held accountable for their actions.
Meanwhile, the US and Canada are getting tough on snowbirds who dip their feet in Florida waters or enjoy the Arizona desert blossoms one day too long…
I guess they really need those tax dollars to secure the borders and keep them safe from… oh, never mind.
Meanwhile, thanks in part to aggressive promotion, the US food-stamps-for-Mexicans program is up, up, up.

Target Data Breach: Bloomberg's Breached Whaleofatale
Bloomberg has an excellent article on the Target data security breach. Well-researched at what must have been considerable cost, published free on the Internet -- capitalism at its finest.
And a whale of a tale it is.
It reads like a Tom Clancy novel.

It appears that Target ignored the warning signs. Here is Target's Big Cheese (Chairman, President, CEO)'s impeccably crafted but utterly inadequate response:

It appears that Target ignored the warning signs. Here is Target's Big Cheese (Chairman, President, CEO)'s impeccably crafted but utterly inadequate response:
Target was certified as meeting the standard for the payment card industry (PCI) in September 2013. Nonetheless, we suffered a data breach. As a result, we are conducting an end-to-end review of our people, processes and technology to understand our opportunities to improve data security and are committed to learning from this experience. While we are still in the midst of an ongoing investigation, we have already taken significant steps, including beginning the overhaul of our information security structure and the acceleration of our transition to chip-enabled cards. However, as the investigation is not complete, we don’t believe it’s constructive to engage in speculation without the benefit of the final analysis. What he should have said was, "we messed up. We are making it right".

White Privilege -- It's Just The Beginning
I have a Canadian seminary friend who has dutifully adopted the "white privilege" lingo of the academic-left. Does he realize that "white privilege" is just the beginning?
Staff members at Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington are enduring viewpoint-corrective training sessions in far-left political topics like “heterosexual privilege,” “gender privilege” and “language privilege.”
* * *
The meeting agendas are largely secret, and staff members have been swore to secrecy. One employee, however, gave an interview to Campus Reform explaining some of the details. The indoctrination of the left continues apace.

The Supremes: Canadian guilty of sexual assault after piercing condoms
| Supreme Court of Canada (Photo credit: Wikipedia) |
OTTAWA (Reuters) - The Supreme Court of Canada on Friday upheld the sexual assault conviction of a Nova Scotia man for poking holes in his condoms before having consensual sex with his girlfriend in order to try to make her pregnant. This means, of course, that if a woman stops taking her birth control to get pregnant and her husband/boyfriend/current one does not want any more kids, she is by definition guilty of sexual assault.
I await the court's back-tracking on that one.

Obama’s Interior Secretary to Dying Eskimos: “I’ve Listened to Your Stories, Now I Have to Listen to the Animals.”
According to local Aleutian elders, 19 people have died since 1980 as a result of the impossible-to-navigate weather conditions during emergency evacuations.

“She stood up in the gymnasium and told those kids, ‘I’ve listened to your stories, now I have to listen to the animals,” Democratic state Rep. Bob Herron told a local television station. “You could have heard a pin drop in that gymnasium.”Because a gravel road would kill the planet -- better that people die.

CenturyLink "Customer Service"
| Credit Card (Photo credit: 401(K) 2013) |
Customer service is another matter. May I vent?
When I signed up for internet service down here in Phoenix, you would think they would have been glad to take my credit card number and sign me up, right? Not so. That's a separate process.
Called today. Gave my account info to perky automated voice guy. After pressing all his right buttons, got a live guy. Repeated all my account info to him. He wanted to know why we didn't have cable TV. I said we had no TV. Wanted to know if we would get one. Can you believe this? I said all I wanted to do was give my credit card to pay for internet. You would think they would be happy to take it. Not so. Next he wanted to know about our cell phone situation. I made it clear, for the third time, that all I wanted to do was pay for internet.
He switched me over to payments. At least the line didn't drop. Payments gal wanted to know… my account info. Gave it the third time. She was actually very nice. Signed me up for autopay but said it would be effective with March bill. I said I also needed to pay for February. She said that if she took the payment over the phone it would cost me $4. Can you believe this?!
I also had an issue with my bill. Got transferred to billing gal. At least the line didn't drop.
Billing gal wanted to know why we don't have cable TV. "No TV". What about cell phone? At least she was nice about it. Patched me over to automated voice guy to pay the February bill. He needed to know my account info. Gave it to Century Link for the fourth time in a single session. Paid bill.
½ hour of my life irretrievably lost to CenturyLink customer service. All because when I signed up they could not/would not take my credit card info at the time.
Somebody at CenturyLink should be fired, and it's not the people I talked to. They are as much prisoners to this customer service lobster trap as the hapless customers who wander in.
And that's the way the Ball bounces.
