Wow, a completely useless quote where any belief could replace the word "Christian". Do you really believe this guy is as intelligent as you think he is?
And, of course, according to a materialistic/atheistic worldview, humanity matters not a whit - the cosmos is completely, utterly indifferent to life, meaning, purpose, values, aspirations, and, in particular, human life.
