America's Newspaper of Record Gets Easter Wrong

The New York Times, America's newspaper of record and the top of the journalistic heap, gets Easter wrong.

As Michael Walsh puts it, "what does resurrection into heaven even mean"?

Mark Steyn weighs in on the implications of biblical illiteracy among journalists' creme at the NYT.

O biblical illiteracy, where is thy sting?!

The New York Times will probably squeak through this by the skin of its teeth -- after all, it's the apple of the intelligentia's eye.

And that's the way the Ball bounces.

I would hate to correct Mr Walsh, but Catholics aren't the only Christians who recite the Creed, Apostles' or Nicene. Anglicans, Lutherans, the Eastern Orthodox Church, and many other churches all use the Nicene Creed (although there are slight variations); western churches also use the Apostle's Creed. It follows, therefore, that The Times was showing its ignorance of mainstream Christianity, not just RC's.

Frances, that occurred to me as well.

Potato, potatoe; a myth is a myth regardless of how many people want to believe it, right, Richard? :-)
