How true. The western liberals' view of society is one in which all kinds of discriminations are made based on which group or collective you belong to.

Women who kill their mates or children? Assumed innocent. Men who kill theirs? Assumed culpable.

Disparagement of Mohammed or Islam? A hate crime. Disparagement of Christ or Christianity? Free speech and brave artistic expression.

Occupation of land by natives? Sacred act protected by the police. Anybody else? You're outta here.

Preston Manning's vision for Canada was the equality of every citizen (by which I took to mean the same treatment under law). I thought this was a noble goal; it was congruent with my own vision rooted in deeply held values based on the equality of persons under the law. The day the liberal media labelled this a racist statement revealing the dark racism within the hearts of Preston Manning and Reformers was the day, for me, the music died. I realized the Canada I had been brought up in, with its embodiment of anglo-saxon judeo-christian values, was not the Canada I now lived in.

We had entered the Liberal looking glass, and we are now looking through it.

Conservatives: Tough On Crime

Singapore is noted as a tough-on-crime country.  I've been there about 30 times. Did it cramp my style? No. How did this tough-on-crime jurisdiction strike me? Clean, orderly, and safe.

Which brings us to the Canadian Conservatives' crime omnibus bill. The media are endlessly concerned about any and all Conservative crime measures. Expect to see the words draconian, regressive, neanderthal, and punishment-focused in the days ahead.

But what about the draconian, regressive, punishment-focused actions the neanderthal Conservatives have already taken? The National Post has a list.

* Toughened sentencing and bail for serious gun crimes
* Imposed mandatory jail time for drive-by and reckless shootings
* Ended so-called “sentence discounts” for multiple murder
* Ended early parole for murderers
* Cracked down on street racing and drug-impaired driving
* Raised the age of sexual consent to 16 years from 14 years
* Stopped two-for-one credit for time served in pre-trial custody
* Ended early parole for white-collar criminals
* Made it mandatory for sex offenders to be included in the National Sex Offender Registry
* Imposed tougher sentencing for child traffickers
* Made it mandatory for Internet providers to report information they receive about child pornography on the web
* Hired 1,000 new RCMP personnel
* Imposed longer wait periods for certain offenders seeking a pardon

How did these actions adversely affect you?

Thought so.

Singapore has a disembarkation card. At the bottom it states, "Death for drug smugglers". Unless you plan to smuggle drugs, you have nothing to worry about.

The BBC: Mystery Mob Attacks Christians In Egypt

Here's the BBC's report of a mysterious mob attacking Christians in Egypt. It's typical of the MSM's velvet-glove approach to Islam.

Headline: "Egypt: Clashes in Cairo as Christian protest attacked". No mention of by whom.

1st paragraph: "At least seven people have been injured in clashes at a Christian protest site in central Cairo...." No mention of the perpetrators.

2nd para.: "The demonstrators outside Egypt's state TV building were attacked overnight, with shots fired, petrol bombs thrown and cars set alight." No mention of by whom.

3rd: "The Christians were protesting against attacks on two churches last weekend in which 12 people died." No mention who attacked the two churches last weekend.

4th. "There has been an increase in sectarian clashes since former President Hosni Mubarak was overthrown in February." No mention of either the participants or, more importantly, the instigators. We already know that one side is Coptic Christians. Would it be too much to expect we be informed of who the other side is?

5th paragraph. "The group of protesters was attacked after they reportedly prevented a man in a car from driving through the area." No mention of by whom.

6th para.. "A group of about 100 people charged the protesters, throwing stones and petrol bombs. Police said at least two of those attacked were wounded by gunshots." No identification of the attackers.

Three more paragraphs, and still no mention of the identity of the mystery mob. The article ends with this:

"Coptic Christians make up about 10% of Egypt's 80 million population. They complain of discrimination at the hands of the Muslim majority." Oh they do, do they? No analysis of whether these complaints have any basis in fact. Maybe the Copts are just a bunch of whiners.

Miller Time or Mecca Time? For the BBC, it's definitely Mecca Time. Must. Not. Offend.

Right-Wing Talk Radio To Blame For Deadly Moscow Suicide Blast?

As early information about the Moscow airport terrorist attack comes in, Russian authorities were quick to suggest right-wing Moscow radio personality Rushkie Limbovski had created the toxic climate that lead to this latest deadly attack. Meanwhile, Moscow TV pundit Keeth Olbermannovich  put the blame on bear-hunting right-wing Russian politician Saranovich Palinovski.

One thing both politicians and pundits agreed on, this attack has nothing whatsoever to do with Islamist extremism.

Political Assassination: Blaming The Right

NPR and other leftist news outlets are blaming the right -- Sarah Palin in particular -- for Arizona's nut-case political assassination. Oh, they don't come right out and say it; they do it under the guise of "what others are saying".  But it's there. And it's there because it's where they're at.   It fits their world-view and their agendas. They are hoping -- oh, how they are hoping -- this guy turns out to be a tea-partier.

Fact is, when they were suggesting it, they had no idea if this guy was fueled by intemperate right-wing rhetoric. Just like NYC's Mayor Bloomberg, and his wishful hope that the Muslim attack in NY was some white guy disaffected with Obama's healthcare. Another leftist wishful hope dashed.

During the bad, evil Bush presidency I recall hearing more than one high-profile liberal suggesting that America would be better if Bush was "offed". Don't recall hearing any NPR concern or editorializing then about the dangers of intemperate leftist rhetoric.

Here's what we do know at this point in time:

* the guy has been described as far-left by a classmate. Oops.

* the guy hates God.  Hey -- didn't the last guy who shot up a bunch of people - the darwinist killer -- also hate God?

If NPR and these other outlets want to hawk an agenda, why not this one: the common theme behind the latest public killing sprees: ardent atheism.

At least this one has, you know, a bit of empirical evidence to support it.

And that's the way the Ball bounces.

PS -- No photo on this post. I'm in Africa and internet resources appear to be strictly rationed.  I'm getting 0.5 - 2.0 kbps -- and that's when it's not flat-lining on zero!

Time Magazine is sad the wall the Israelis built to keep the terrorists killers out has "worked".  It breaks us all up, Time. If only more Israelis had gotten blown up. Oh, the humanity!  All we are saying, is give Israelis in pieces a chance.

Let's hope the guy misspoke or was having an off day, because I don't believe the left actually wants to see Israelis killed.

The director general of the BBC admitted Thursday that his organisation had been guilty of a "massive bias to the left" but said "a completely different generation" of journalists now works at the broadcaster.

"In the BBC I joined 30 years ago, there was, in much of current affairs, in terms of people's personal politics, which were quite vocal, a massive bias to the left," Thompson said. 

"... journalistically, staff were quite mystified by the early years of Thatcher."Now it is a completely different generation. There is much less overt tribalism among the young journalists who work for the BBC," he added.
