Is Islam Christ-friendly, as its proponents insist?

Apparently not. Being a true friend of Christ can get you killed. As Christians, we need to be prepared to die. Most of us will never experience martyrdom, but the possibility comes with the territory.

If this guy was gay, the CBC would be all over it. But he's just another Christian, so don't expect them to get too excited. I'll be happily surprised if they do. The photo headline above was from Fox News.

Lord, have mercy on this man and on his family -- and on his persecutors too.

You can file this under "media bias", or, more simply, "CBC".

In Ottawa, a crowd of as many as 18,000 people gathered to march in support of the unborn and to oppose abortion. The RCMP suggested the figure was closer to 10,000, and other experts on grid measurement thought 15,000 more accurate. Not the CBC though. They confidently explained that 5,000 people were at the peaceful gathering.

The CBC: Because A Billion Dollar Subsidy Isn't Enough

If you’d like to send some friends an article from the CBC’s website, then the CBC would like $20. If you want to print six copies of an article, the CBC wants $10. And if you’re interested in posting an excerpt of an article to your blog, then the CBC is interested in charging $500 to your credit card for each year your post is online.

Of course, you don’t need to pay the CBC anything.... Unless you share CBC content in a very specific and somewhat obscure way—by clicking the little icons at the end of each article or a button labeled “Republish,” you can freely share their stuff the way people share everything else on the Internet—copy and paste.

But if you do, it might interest you to know that the CBC is encouraging the friends you share their content with to rat you out in the hopes of scoring a $1,000,000 reward. 

This bizarre scheme comes via a company called iCopyright, which the CBC has partnered with to “monetize” their online content.

Instead of "monetize", how about "vaporize" CBC content?

Liberals Still Don't Get It

Still, [Liberal] Marzolini was gobsmacked. “I’ve never seen in 580 election campaigns anybody as popular as Jack Layton ... Basically, he was on a par with Don Cherry in the eyes of Canadians. He was right up there with David Suzuki and Canadians think Suzuki walks on water.”

Maybe ardent Liberals, NDP, and Greens think Suzuki walks on water. Maybe the CBC thinks he walks on water.  But Canadians in general?

This is why the Liberals lost.  They arrogantly assume the way Liberal elites think is the way Canadians think.

It's not. (But it does give me a good idea for a poll question, once the current Justin Trudeau poll runs out -- don't forget to vote!)

Bin Laden and the CBC's Shame

When the 9-11 attacks occurred and the Bush administration pointed the finger at Islamic terrorists, the CBC went out of its way to interview people who claimed the accusation of Islamic terrorism was baseless and evidence of western racism. The CBC gave them a complete and full airing.

When Saddam Hussein was captured by the American military during the Bush administration a CBC reporter tried to suggest that it really didn't amount to much.

However the CBC treats news of bin Laden's death, let's not forget the CBC's shameful role in these events.

The NDP's Scary Hidden Agenda

The CBC’s Leslie MacKinnon recently reported on the NDP’s official constitution, a 2003 document that specifies why the NDP exists. It turns out the NDP constitution is itself a hidden agenda.

First, here’s a core statement from the preamble outlining the “principles of democratic socialism” that guide the party:

That the production and distribution of goods and services shall be directed to meeting the social and individual needs of people within a sustainable environment and economy and not to the making of profit; [profits bad, socialism good]

To modify and control the operations of the monopolistic productive and distributive organizations through economic and social planning [think Communism]. Towards these ends and where necessary, the extension of the principle of social ownership…. [nationalization of our golden eggs by the NDP goose]

The New Democratic Party is proud to be associated with the democratic socialist parties of the world and to share the struggle for peace, international co-operation and the abolition of poverty. [guaranteed annual income so no-one is forced to suffer the indignity of having to work for a living]

The above NDP constitutional extract is unfortunately not available on the NDP website. Ms MacKinnon asked about this omission and was told that the party’s constitution is an “internal” document that is only available to members, not to voters who might be interested in NDP principles. 

Good on the CBC for reporting this! Credit where credit's due!

CBC Uber-Integrity and Neutrality: Bwahahahahaha!

“The journalistic integrity of CBC-Radio-Canada – of the national public broadcaster – and its political neutrality require that our material not be used in partisan advertising,'' Marco Dube, a CBC spokesman, told The Canadian Press on Tuesday. (Globe and Mail)

Do you think the CBC is neutral when it comes to issues such as same-sex marriage, abortion-rights or Canada's vast and ever-expanding social-net? E.g., do you think the CBC is neutral on the issue of eternal government funding of entities such as... itself?

The CBC is as partisan as they come.

Journalistic "integrity"?  "Political neutrality"?

Bwahahahahahaha!

They dislike conservativism and Conservatives and everybody knows it.

The Run-Up To Easter

We've come to expect faith-negating articles and exposes on the run-up to Easter. You can usually count on the CBC to come up with something. Last year it was Tom Harpur's The Pagan Christ. ( I'm still waiting for their expose on Mohammed.)

Wonder what they'll come up with this year?
