Psalm 14

New King James Version (NKJV)

Psalm 14
–To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.
 1 The fool has said in his heart,
         “There is no God.”
         They are corrupt,
         They have done abominable works,
         There is none who does good.

 2 The LORD looks down from heaven upon the children of men,
         To see if there are any who understand, who seek God.
 3 They have all turned aside,
         They have together become corrupt;
         There is none who does good,
         No, not one.

 4 Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge,
         Who eat up my people as they eat bread,
         And do not call on the LORD?
 5 There they are in great fear,
         For God is with the generation of the righteous.
 6 You shame the counsel of the poor,
         But the LORD is his refuge.

 7 Oh, that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion!
         When the LORD brings back the captivity of His people,
         Let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad.

* * *

"Oh, that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion!"

That cry-of-the-heart prayer of David was answered in the coming of Christ -- the "salvation of Israel". Zion's King. The suffering servant of Isaiah. The Son of Man of Daniel. "The Word" of John's gospel. The King of Kings and Lord of Lords of Revelation. This is the day [of salvation] the Lord has made. This is your day of salvation. Embrace it. Take hold of it. Relish it. Let us rejoice and be glad in it!

And the mentally-ill has said in his head that there is an invisible magic man in the sky, eh, Richard?

Well at least we know what is wrong with SDC. By his own diagnosis he is mentally ill. He believes Christians believe that there is "an invisible magic man in the sky". Of course he also believes in Volcano Gods so I suppose we should have suspected mental illness all along.

It takes REAL mental illness to "talk" to an imaginary character and believe that that imaginary character is "talking back" to you, doesn't it, Joe?

First of all SDC I have no idea about talking to imaginary persons or having imaginary persons speak to me because the Person(s) I speak to are more real than you are.

Many years ago, long before I was a Christian I left my hiking partners to try to catch up to another group. While my group rested I set off on a different course. After about a futile mile I decided to return to my group. I soon realized I was lost. After a few yards panic set in and I began to run. I had no idea how far I ran or even in which direction I was going when a voice, not my own, said, "Stop". I stopped. The voice then said, "Go back". I began to retrace my steps and after a time the voice said, "Look". I looked and noticed that some of the leaves on a tree were turned like something or someone had brushed past them. I realized that the turned leaves were my path back to my hiking party. I followed the path and sure enough I rejoined my group.

I'm sure someone as unenlightened as you will try to dispute what I experienced but I know Whom I have believed.

Joe. I just came across your post in my Comments box. Sorry that SDC had to do without your pearls of wisdom for what may have been several days!

"... nothing intellectually compelling or challenging.. bald assertions coupled to superstition... woefully pathetic"
