I read the article. I wish I knew more details (but knowing more details would probably violate the privacy of the people mentioned in the article).
From my point of view, one of the most disappointing things about "Obamacare" is that it relies on private insurance. I'm in favour of a "single payer" system, or at least a "public option" (that was discussed while the Affordable Care Act was being developed.
Don't worry the government will soon have a monopoly on health care as Obama's real aim is to have this such a mess that the government will 'have to' pick up the pieces.
1152: If Obamacare is going to be the law of the land, it should be the law of the land without exception. It's all the exceptions that irritate me and offend my Canadian-British sense of equality under the law. As it is, it is one law for you and one law for me.
Anon -- there is a lot of truth in what you say. The answer to bungled government regulations is always more regulations.
"Free" health care is an elixir. Once it is in, it is so intoxicating to a populace, it never goes out. It changes the relationship between people and government, especially in the US where citizens have been conditioned to be self-reliant (except of course for the past 2-3 generations of welfare users and Obamaphone lovers.
I wanted to play a game of let me fix that headline for you but I'm just too gobsmacked by their reactions.
They were told the consequences of voting for Obamacare and they chose instead to believe what they were sold because Obama good Republican bad.
Wait until interest rates rise and they have to pay an extra five hundred bucks a month on their mortgages as well as their new Obamacare premiums.
