I mean, how did they manage this and what is it that they really want???

It became known as the Great Debate.
In 1985 the University of California at Irvine hosted a public debate between philosopher Greg Bahnsen and atheist Gordon Stein on the topic “Does God Exist?”
WHAT ENSUED
Stein came prepared to cut down traditional apologetic arguments for the existence of God, but the philosopher’s approach was unexpected. Bahnsen went on the offensive and presented the Transcendental Argument for the Existence of God: the God of the Bible must exist because no other worldview makes rational sense of the universe and logic, science, and morals ultimately presuppose a theistic worldview. He explained: "The transcendental proof for God’s existence is that without Him it is impossible to prove anything."Bahnsen takes a radically different approach than Christian philosopher/theologian William Lane Craig. By granting atheist presuppositions of laws of logic, rationality, and order in a godless universe, we cede too much -- they play the game on a field that is only rational if theism is true!

A story for which Napier is often noted involved Hindu priests complaining to him about the prohibition of Sati by British authorities. This was the custom of burning a widow alive on the funeral pyre of her husband. As first recounted by his brother William, he replied:The American culture is the most copied, most emulated, most imitated, most desired culture on earth. An apologetic, self-loathing culture is doomed. And that pretty much describes the West with its naive idealism concerning other cultures and its massive self-doubt concerning its own.
"Be it so. This burning of widows is your custom; prepare the funeral pile. But my nation has also a custom. When men burn women alive we hang them, and confiscate all their property. The government also is projecting it will spend at least another $850-million in the current 2012-13 fiscal year on accumulated severance payouts (including for resignation and retirement) owed to federal employees as per collective agreements signed by successive governments over several years.
