Why Did the Chinese Tire Cross the road?

Q. Why did the Chinese tire cross the road?

A. To run over the American chicken.

- - -

U.S. President Obama has slapped import duties on Chinese-made tires. In response,
China has said it's going to look into import duties on US chickens and cars.

Let's hope Obama's got this trade-dispute thing figured out and knows what he's doing.

Obama should know that China has its hands on the plug of the US economy and could pull it any time it wants. China holds an enormous amount of US debt, and, with US debt being the primary thing the US is producing in copious abundance these days, if China decides not to accept any more, or to call in the debt it currently carries, it's all over for the US economy except the obligatory termination bonuses for bankrupted banks' key executives.

And that's the way the Ball bounces.

Things are going to get ugly. Hasn't PM Harper been warning that protectionism will make the recession worse?

Guess Obama hasn't been listening. WOW, the US is going down faster than the Titanic.
