Quote of the Day: "Who Predicted The Complexity?"

緑橋文化祭 - Evolution of LifeImage by Sekikos via Flickr
Who predicted the complexity: the Darwinians or the intelligent design proponents?  You already know the answer.  The Darwinians have been wrong on this matter time and time again.  The origin of life would be simple (the Warm Little Pond of Darwin’s dreams).  Protoplasm would be simple.  Proteins would be simple.  Genetics would be simple (remember Darwin’s pangenes?).  The carrier of genetic information would be simple.  DNA transcription would be simple (the Central Dogma).  The origin of the genetic code would be simple (the RNA World, or Crick’s “frozen accident.”).  Comparative genomics would be simple, and we would be able to trace the evolution of life in the genes.  Life would be littered with the trash of mutations and natural selection (vestigial organs, junk DNA).  Simple, simple, simple." -- CreationSafaris.Com
Darwinists accuse Christians of committing the logical fallacy of argument from personal incredulity. At some point, incredulity is the rational response, and its opposite is not reason but gullibility. One man's "incredulity" is another man's skepticism.

I've never met a self-confessed "skeptic" who was skeptical of darwinism. They direct their skepticism at facts which, if true, would demand a radical change of mind, heart, and behaviour -- something the ancients called "repentance".

Jeezy Creezy!
Would you give it a rest with this argument?
You're just boring, like Macleans or the Globe and Mail.
Except in this case, you're like the one note guy in a symphony who plays the triangle.

What this comes down to is that you can't accept the possibility that God didn't make us the way you think He did.

A better question is why can't you accept that we as a species climbed out of the primordial muck and took over the world?
That's quite an accomplishment.

Do you think God just installed us here as masters of this world?
Or did we have to work for it?

I'd rather think that we earned it.
And instead of quibbling over the details of how we got here we should think of what we should do next.

Science is the way to find and understand God.
It's not something to shrink from.
God gave us this trail of bread crumbs.
We just have to follow it to find Him.

I may use this as my masthead quote!

No, I do not accept the possibility that he did not make us. How he made us is what is "on the table". And, undirected, unintelligent, undesigned processes don't "work".

"you're like .. a symphony".

Another great quote!

"And instead of quibbling over the details of how we got here we should think of what we should do next."

And you think that our vision of 'what we do next' is not determined in large part by how we got here?

The Communists believe that we crawled out of the mud. 30 odd million dead later its economy in tatters... The Nazis believed we crawled out of the mud. 8 million dead and a massive world war later...

The Islamists believe we were created but that our objective is to accomplish the unknowable will of Allah. Except for the strict code of Sharia. Therefore women must walk about in gunny sacks and are in constant mortal danger of murder.

Oh yeah our world view including how we got here has nothing to do with our idea of what we should do next. Oh look a pig just flew by my window!

Congratulations Joe!

You hit the Godwin singularity in only 5 posts! A new record!

By the way, Hitler was a Catholic. And a devout one.

And Hitler has written that he didn't accept Darwin's theory - he was a creationist (like most christians at that time).

Lot's of supporting quotes from "Mein Kampf" at that site... total creationist. Total.

If by creationist you mean someone who believes that God created (which is the way you seem to use the term) then you must realize how ridiculous it is to suggest that most christians were creationist at the time. All Christians believe that God exists and the universe is his creation.

Well I could have mentioned the millions upon millions of deaths by abortion committed by the modern secular humanists of today but I thought my point of world view leading outcome exemplified by two thoroughly discredited world views.

As for your allegation that Hitler was a devout Catholic, well speaking of Godwin.

Sorry, Joe. Godwin's law only applies to the first instance of argumentum ad Hitlerum. subsequent mentions are in post-Godwin space.

I am one of those godless types who counts the actual lives saved by legal abortion, not the zygotes lost. But we will never find common ground on that debate.
