Ummm, in the 'delusions of grandeur' department, I think it would be more credible to attribute the 'royalty thing' rather than the 'leftist thing'.
After all, his many-times-great uncle Chuck I quite literally lost his head over the idea that he could do anything he wanted -- and I don't think anybody called him a "leftist".
The man lives a life of luxury and grander, one of the most useless parasites on the tax payer dime. If that ain't a definition of a leftest I'll eat my husbands cooking.

Chucky gets most of his income from the Duchy of Cornwell (£16.3 million in 2007, which he voluntarily pays tax on), not from the civil list.
