File "B" for Bonkers: Home-Made Lunches Banned From School

Now, you can only eat government-approved lunches, because governments cannot trust parents to do the right thing.
Fernando waved his hand over the crowd and asked a visiting reporter: "Do you see the situation?"
At his public school, Little Village Academy on Chicago's West Side, students are not allowed to pack lunches from home. Unless they have a medical excuse, they must eat the food served in the cafeteria.
Principal Elsa Carmona said her intention is to protect students from their own unhealthful food choices.
"Nutrition wise, it is better for the children to eat at the school," Carmona said. "It's about the nutrition and the excellent quality food that they are able to serve (in the lunchroom). It's milk versus a Coke. But with allergies and any medical issue, of course, we would make an exception."
Carmona said she created the policy six years ago after watching students bring "bottles of soda and flaming hot chips" on field trips for their lunch. Although she would not name any other schools that employ such practices, she said it was fairly common. (h/t Drudge).
Ah, the misplaced morality and velvet glove of leftist "government knows best" totalitarianism.

Kids: you can have sex with anyone, anytime, anywhere; just don't plan on scarfing down on a soda and flaming hot chips afterwards -- that would be wrong.

This is "equality" - the dream of the secular left. All the children will be equal.

Fathers are NOT needed as providers, the state can provide if there is no father in the home. There will be no pressure on women to marry men who can provide for them or lead in the home morally and spiritually. Women will be free to do whatever they feel like with men (for fun). The state should cover women with taxpayer-funded day care, IVF, social welfare payments, public schools and everything.

Who is paying for those lunches, and will somebody be standing around to make sure your kid eats the so called healthy lunch. And what if your kid does not like milk,(I hate the stuff, always have, always will)
So, first thing when kids get home is to stuff themselves on junk food, probably after stopping off at some burger place.

Mary, so, you're one of those, a milk-hater, huh? Banned from the Ball Bounces for milk-bigotry!!!!

(just kidding). We are inclusive.

Mary was banned ?!?! Just like those poor, misunderstood students were banned from a Conservative Rally ? Oh, the unfairness of it all. /sarcasm.

Mary is banned, but only until noon, at which time a general amnesty kicks-in. We'll all have a soda and some red-hots to celebrate her reinstatement to the Balliverse, and then wash it all down with a cold one (milk)!

Must be noon somewhere in Canada, make that chocolate milk and I will join you.
As kids, mom always had a glass of milk waiting with our lunch. My brother and sister would look at my glass, and when mom wasn't looking, they drank it. Couldn't leave the table till it was gone. She and I finally made a pact, I would drink a glass of milk with lunch, if it was a shot glass. Problem solved. Worst job for me on the farm, after marriage, was washing the separator with that horrible smell of milk, then having to churn butter from the cream.

Someone is making money off those school lunches, and I guarantee it's a corporation.

This is not a socialist plot, it's a capitalist plot. You've just bought into their smokescreen that the policy is based on nutrition rather than profits. I bet the supplier of the school's food said, "If you buy 300 lunches from us it'll cost X per lunch, if you buy 800 lunches from us it'll cost less per lunch". Then they suggested a policy that prevents outside food from coming in. Here's how you sell it: Kids bring in junk food. We're just worried about their nutrition.

It's too much corporate influence in the schools.
