Worth Repeating

"Being an atheist gives me the freedom and mental strength to be comfortable with the understanding that I am no more significant than a bread crumb on my chopping board."

Actually, as a Christian, I must give proper respect to all life. A bread crumb isn't life. However, I do thank God for the gift of yeast and the brilliance of those who came before me to create yeast and - therefore - bread and beer.

That being said, the bread crumb isn't going to save lives, unlike those family members who are trained so to do.

I liked what Jesus said -- we are of more value than many sparrows.

Thank you, Frances, as always, for your comment.

And there a gazillion things to thank God for in the food category -- yeast is one. Chocolate is another. And coffee, another. Don't get me started!

If an atheist wants to believe that I have no problem as long as that perception extends only to themselves.
Atheism is a de facto religion and some of its adherents have a missionary bent.
Missionaries all, leave me alone.
My relationship with the man in the sky is between me and him and nobody's business.

As opposed to the insufferable arrogance of imagining that you have some sort of connection with an imaginary invisible magic man in the sky, simply because you choose to believe in one cult over another, you mean?

"... nothing intellectually compelling or challenging.. bald assertions coupled to superstition... woefully pathetic"
