Debate Fallout: Martin Weakens the Nation

1. By stating that he supports removing the Notwithstanding Clause. He dismissed our democratically elected representatives as "politicians". This act would leave the Courts with virtually unchecked, absolute power, and leave Parliament a damaged stump of its former supreme self.

2. By stating that he recognizes Quebec is a nation. May be good politics, but can't be good for Canadian unity.

since we became endowed with trudeau's charter the future was written on the wall. US style democracy, or rule by lawyers. the only saving grace to this madness was the withstanding clause. now, if we take junior seriously, we should all shudder from the newest desperate act to play with the country's institutions as a tool to cling to power. he'll try anything to blatantly depict harper as the boogie man. if, as a country, we are as retarded as he believes, we've got more trouble. this man must be removed from any contact with authority.

The Liberals must be terrified that the Conservatives will get to look at the account books. That is if there are any books left or if there were any to start with.

After the wacky things PM said his handlers must be madly running around trying to wipe their fingerprints off any evidence.
